Are you feeling a little crimped????

I am..but it's all good!  This has been a great weekend...friday DH and I went to our local tavern and enjoyed live music - Doug and The Henry's - they were great!  Doug is a long time friend and lead guitar and only vocalist...the Henry's are father and son - one plays acoustical and the other plays fiddle....it was just wonderful!  Then yesterday three of the grandkids came over and spent the night - so much energy....but so much fun.  today it is the Daytona 500!  But even in the middle of all of this I was able to create several versions of Splitcoast's Crimped envelope Pocket card!  Basically it creates a pouch out of a regular envelope....if you want to give it a try,  here are the directions.

February 2009 034   February 2009 035

I used mostly Stampin' Up products - Rose Red, Tangerine Tango, Taken with Teal - Always, Garden Silhouettes, Garden Whimsy and For a Friend.

I really had fun with this one...hope you enjoy it too!

Until next time - God Bless!

Take 3..yep three!

I have this great group of sistas - the Sisterhood of Blogging Stampers #9 - and amongst us we have so much talent.  Check out my sidebar for each of their blogs...

Anyway, we were kinda quiet over the holidays - you know - life takes over and so many commitments so little time.  We have reconnected and I offered to host the challnge for February - so here it is!

Make a card, scrapbook layout, altered gift..whatever, but only use three of each element - all elements..three layers, three brads, three ribbons, three buttons - whatever you choose but three!

Here is mine!January 2009 036  Three layers, three brads, three sparkles!

The stamps I used are from SU! Warm Words and Baroque Motifs.  The embossing powder is Pearl Hematite from Stampendous!, the paer from Prism, Marcella by K Designs and Metallic Paper from Best Occasions.

Good luck with the challenge - until next time - God Bless!

Busy...busy...busy!

I started my "part-time" job about a month ago...and have only worked "part-time" one week!  It is busy, and fun and I am really liking it but it is really cutting into my crafting plans.  I have been busy with so many things - swaps, costumes, cards, Halloween decor....all that fun stuff!

Here is my latest creation - CASE'd from Debbie at Simply Scrapbooks and Kendra - two great friends!

October 2008 012   It is made of mat board, decorated with Cricut characters from Paper Dolls Dress up and tied with lots - and I mean lots - of ribbons!  I used the Zutter Bind It all to punch all of the holes!  isn't it cute?!?!

Want some candy - check out Natty's (my SBS9 sister) site - she is offering some yummy candy to celebrate her blogaversary - congrats to you Natalie!

Another sister, Suzanne, is also celebrating her blogaversary here in conjunction with Breast Cancer Awareness month!  What a great cause, Suzanne....and she is offering candy if you send a pink card to brighten someone's day - here is mine...Dabbles By Deb 004

I am sending this to my aunt who is a Breast Cancer survivor!

The last card I want to share is one I sent to an on-line friend who'took a nasty fall - hope you're doing better Mary! Mary fell and broke her arm and scraped up her face and all - she adores Halloween, hence the "Halloween Witch-es to you" card!

Dabbles By Deb 006

I belong to a group called the Cricut Card Fairy Army and we just send cards wherever the need - sometimes they are for birthdays...sometimes get well...sometimes a mere Thinking of you...I think it is a fun way to spread some cheer and let people know they are not alone no matter where they are or what is going on in their life.

Take a moment to find someone to cheer up!

Until next time - God bless!

September 29, 2008

Yeah!!! They're finished!!!!

During the summer I took a 3 month vacation from work so I could do some of the things I wanted to do.  I traveled, I crafted, I celebrated lots of birthdays and I over-committed!  One of my commitments was an ABC Cricut swap - I volunteered for 2 layouts - 28 copies of each!  I chose the letter Z - I thought "zebra" that is probably pretty easy - then we needed 8 more people and a few of us did two letters - yep you guessed it - I volunteered to do "F" for friends - I thought "I can do this - on time!"  and I have...yeah me!

Here is my F is for Friends - using Paper Dolls Dress Up and Mickey Font - I used the Doll Face Assortment from Peach Keen Stamps for the faces - aren't they cute?!!

September 2008 001

and here is the Z is for Zebra!  Now this LO was a challange - actually the zebra itself was the challenge - so many stripes!  I used Animal Kingdom and Cuttin' Up!

September 2008 002

This past weekend I attended a scrap weekend at my favorite LSS and had so much fun but my productivity was at an all time low but I finished my Fs and Zs!!!!  They went postal today and should arrive by October 1st - the deadline!

One swap down and one to go...this one is easier - only 12 layouts!!!  Until next time - God bless!

Alzheimers and You

I know that alot of folke are affected by this dreadful disease - I am blessed, neither my family nor my in-laws have been afflicted.  I know several folks whose loved ones are victims and my heart goes out to them.  In honor of those friends I am particpating in an online benefit for the Alzheimers Association.  It is an event sponsored by Cammie in memory of her grandmother.  She is giving away a boat load - really it will fill a boat - of goodies to one winner.

I am sending this card to -

To the Staff at the Artman Home
250 N. Bethlehem Pike
Ambler, PA 19002

which is the home Cammie's grandmother resided in before her death.

September 2008 057
This is the Thank you card I made for our SBS9 sketch challenge this month.  In Cammie's give away are so many donations from so many companies including Verve Visual, Unity Stamp Company and Flourishes as well as individuals like Jen Belcer and Tracy Harp.  Thank you all for your generosity!

So many blessings from so many people - take a moment, check it out here and play along - the rewards are great - the personal reward of saying thank you to some terrific folks cannot be beat!

Until next time - God bless!
